Discussion Essay about corporal punishment
Discipline or Disobedience
What is in your mind if you hear about corporal punishment for student? You absolutely argue that it is a kind of criminal action at school which must be prevented. One of the worst cases in this century is corporal punishment which is given by the teacher to student. The American College Dictionary, 1953 Edition, defines corporal punishment as "physical injury inflicted on the body of one convicted of a crime, and including the death penalty, flogging, sentence to a term of years, etc." Indeed, corporal punishment is not a new issue from education, but is it allowed or not to punish children by beating, caning or spanking to be discipline? Until now, corporal punishment is still being controversy by teachers, students and parents. To convince you about how corporal punishment actually, the following reasons will show what the bad and good effects of corporal punishment to student.
The first reason to stop corporal punishment is it absolutely affects to physic of student. The violence which uses with beating, caning, flogging, hitting, paddling, slapping and many more the psychical punishments can cause the fatality effect from body, such as bruise, abrasion, swollen, and bone fracture. Dr. Elliston Rahming, the owner and director of the school in America, is also a criminologist, said that in education, there will be no corporal punishment in any kind. Teachers have to find more effective ways than beating to enforce discipline. Because teachers is not a thug, they should not do the violence.
The second reason to ignore corporal punishment at school is it surely impacts to mental student. Philip Greven in his book Spare the Child: The Religious Roots of Punishment and the Psychological Impact of Physical Abuse argues that corporal punishment can affect to psychic in a long period, for example amnesia, anxiety, depression, phobia, and the deep trauma. Moreover, it will influence to children behavior. They will imitate the action what they get from their teacher to others. Of course, it will be bad of the child’s mental development.
In spite of the several bad effects of corporal punishment, there is one of the advantages for student. Corporal punishment is a way to instill discipline in children. It is not weird if the teacher ever does violence to his or her student who does not obey with the rule, because it will make the student being afraid to do it anymore. Not only that, the student will be success for the next years. For instance, Mr. Purwanto, a teacher in one of an elementary school in West Java, told that he had a student who was very tough and disobedient, so he often did corporal punishment. As a result, the student is being a successful person now, and he said thankful for Mr. Purwanto who has ever changed him to be more discipline.
Taking into consideration about some negative and positive effects, corporal punishment is the last way to discipline the student. The teachers have a right to choose which method that is used to the student, because they really know how their student actually. If corporal punishment is the last method to change the student being better, it should be applied. For note, the purpose from this method is only to guide the student for the best future. In contrast, corporal punishment should be ignored, if it is just for nothing than violence.

The Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
“Do you need education? Of course yes.” That question is often asked for children who are young enough to study, but what kind of education that will be taken? Until now, some parents still doubt about it. Anything can be more modern including education which is very important for children’s future. Homeschooling is one of the popular programs of education which still becomes pro and contra in this century. As soon as it is more popular, many thoughts cross in to your mind. What are the benefits and detriments from homeschooling? To make sure you about homeschooling, you really need to weigh both of the pros and cons.
The first reason for taking homeschooling is children have more freedom to study. Parent and children can arrange the time when will be the best for studying. Several kids may prefer to learn in the morning, noon, or evening which very influence to the will of study. On the other hand, students studying in formal or public school, they must go, attend, study, break, and finish studying according to the rule of school. Therefore, children might be bored or tired because of the bad schedule. It surely affects of learning process that is not effective. So, being able to set up the learning schedule is a way to get success.
The second reason to arguing homeschooling is knowing more about your kids. It is the biggest advantage of homeschooling because parent can notice and keep their children while they are studying. Moreover, this way will help parent to figure out what are the talents and skill from their children. In contrast, students learning in public school, of course parent will not be able to control their children a whole time in every single day. In addition, students can be influenced by the bad environment, such as cheating, fighting, smoking and many others that will make parent scared and worried. Thus, getting to know more about your beloved kids is greater than only packing them on the bus to school in the morning.
Despite the many advantages, other families do not argue about homeschooling. The first opinion is it is not easy to spend much time with their children all the time, especially for those who are busy in working. Parent must prepare the lesson, research the topic, and teach them by wasting much time. Not only that, the parents usually have their own obvious plan that can give a lot of pressure for their kids to be what they want. It surely makes children not enjoy in studying. In fact, supporting and being with parent is one of the successes in this program.
The second reason for ignoring homeschooling is there is no competition in studying. Students never know how rate their skill because they only study with their parent and friend whose the same ability and talent with them. Also, socialization and interaction with other persons are limited, whereas it can give the precious experience for children in social environment.
Considering about some good and bad reasons from homeschooling, parents should think more before making the decision for their children’s education. If parents will not have much time and ability to their kids, homeschooling is not the best choice in this case. In other side, to anticipate the bad influences which will happen, parent should apply homeschooling to their kids. It will be more potential because parent can control and bring their children for the best future.

review movie "The Pink Panther 2"

One of the greatest comedy movies in 2009 is The Pink Panther 2. The movie which is stared by Steve Martin, Jean Reno, and Emily Mortimer is a sequel from Pink Panther, but it is prepared more perfectly because the location is taken in France. This funny movie focuses to tell about how Inspector Jacques Clouseau finds the Pink Panther Diamond which is stolen by Tornado.
For six months, Inspector Clouseau is demanded to fine the people who park their car in any place outside the museum where the Pink Panther is saved. Unlucky, the worth stuff and diamond lose from the museum, so the major Dreyfus commands Closeau to join with the Dream Team which detects this case. It is assumed that all the importance things are stolen by the professional thief who called as Tornado. The Dream Team, Closeau and his beloved woman Nicole begin their investigation in Roma, but they do not find anything there. Moreover, Closeau makes a terrible action in the biggest restaurant there. Therefore, he is not a member of the Dream Team anymore.
Without Closeau, the Dream Team still continues their investigation. They can find the place where Tornado stays, but Tornado dies. They feel that their survey finishes, whereas Closeau believes that the thief is not Tornado, actually. When the big party is celebrated in the museum, Closeau finds some evidences that the thief is Sonia. Many actions are shown by Closeau to catch Sonia. Of course, the actions are so funny which can make you unstoppable to laugh. Finally, Closeau is still being a hero again.
Then, who is Sonia actually? How does Closeau find and give back the Pink Panther? Will Closeau and Nicole marry? To answer all of the questions, you must watch The Pink Panther 2. I bet you will be amused by this great comedy movie. In addition, the setting from the movie is in France, so there are some words which are spoken in English but the accent is French, like “jojoba” said as “hohoba.” For more jokes, you must watch the movie which is stared by the best actors and actresses in world.
I do like this movie because it is so funny that can make the audience laugh during this film. There are more special things which are shown by the actors and actresses. Aishwarya Rai, a famous actress from India, her position absolutely can give the interesting point in this movie. So, you will get the best entertainment from watching The Pink Panther 2.

Alhamdulillah yah, sesuatu.. Gue baru dapet hidayah dadakan dari buku “TOLONG, RADITH BUAT SAYA BEGO”, ntah ini bisa dibilang hidayah ntah gue kena hipnotis nya si Radityadika. Awalnya sih gue cuma ngiseng nyungsep ke kamar adek gue yang udah kayak kandang ayam (untung adek gue bukan ayam) Mhuahahaha.., trus pandangan mata gue tiba2 nyangkut sama buku kecil yang udah agak usang, gue maklum koq namanya juga buku nemu di kandang ayam, trus trus gue baca judulnya ternyata tentang radith, langsung gue inget kemaren gue ngtwit ke Radityadika tapi kagak di reply, biasa mungkin orang tenar terlalu sibuk, jadi ga sempat baca twit dr gue yang salah satu follower nya di twitter, itu pun sebenernya ga mau follow tapi karena banyak orang2 yang follow jadi gue ikutan follow deh, haha..
Pasti pada penasaran hidayah nya apa? *nanya ke diri gue sendiri* hmm,, begini, hidayah nya itu sebenernya gue jadi kepengen nulis juga gitu, nulis ngasal kayak tulisan Radityadika tapi bisa jadi penulis handal sekarang, nah gue jadi dapet inspirasi. Mumpung ne liburan jadwal gue gak terlalu padat *sombooong* biasanya padat gara2 tugas kuliah yang udah kayak puing2 bangunan tua yang roboh karena gempa langsung nubruk otak gue, mau mati gue saat itu, ditambah lagi ujian akhir semester gue yang rada dibilang ngenes, udah ah, jadi malu gue kalo curhat disini. Nyambung lagi ke maksud hidayah tadi, yaitu .. haha,, gue jadi pengen nulis iseng2 lah ngisi liburan n kali aja ada yang ngintip2 k blog gue, blog yang dulunya cuma buat syarat ngumpulin tugas review sama Ms. Lina, untung aja tu dosen udah terbang ke Australia, hehe..maap Miss…
Nah, cukup belit2 ya, biar ga belit ya lo yang mampir atau tiba2 ngklik blog gue baca aja ya tulisan2 tangan halus n mungil kayak gue, kali aja bikin lo ketawa, sedih, ataupun cuma ngabisin waktu lu buat baca tulisan gaje gue, hahah…alhamdulillah,,, cukup sekian duu yee,, sob… ntar gue post deh tulisan2 berbobot gue sebagai salah satu mahasiswa bahasa inggris di salah satu universitas negeri di Padang, gaya doank nyandang gelar mahasiswa English Department, tapi nyatanya? Lo baca aja deh essay2 gue yang pake bahasa internasional gitu, hehe,, jangan kemane2 yee sebelum baca tulisan2 gila gue..

“House of Wax” is a movie about how six friends must fight and escape from being next exhibits in the House of Wax. House of Wax is a real museum which full of wax. Two murderous twin brothers stay there since they were born. They have an unusual habit because of a horrible background in their childhood. Their father is a sculpture artist. One of the men has a bad face, and his parent really hates him. He is always tortured. So, he makes a mask for closing his face. The mask is made by wax. Since that time, he always burns anything to be wax, including humans. So, he called a professor who fills his wax museum with real dead bodies covered in wax.
The moral value which can be taken from that movie is not to hate someone because of her or his weakness. Nobody perfects in this world. The parents should not distinguish their children because of a weakness. A bad action which has been done by the parents to their children will affect to children behavior. Moreover, it can be a grudge for their life.
